Four great carpet styles
Carpeting is a favorite flooring material for stairs, bedrooms, and basements, and many homeowners find that it's a satisfyingly warm and comfy addition to the family and living rooms.
If you're looking for the perfect style for your home, go to Hessler Floor Covering, where you can check out our vast in-stock inventory. In addition, we have a carpet store in three Florida cities: Punta Gorda, Fort Myers, and Naples.
Berber
Fibers are looped onto a backing to create many styles, and one of these styles is Berber, named for the African tribe that perfected it.
Traditional Berber carpeting has a light background highlighted by brown and gray dots. Many colors are available today.
Saxony
Loops can be cut at the tips to create cut-pile styles like iconic Saxony, which many generations have favored. Medium-length, densely packed fibers create an even surface.
In addition, the fibers stand up straight to produce a carpet floor covering that has a more formal look than frieze carpeting.
Frieze
Cut-pile twist or frieze carpeting features tightly twisted fibers that lay back and scatter in many directions.
Usually, fibers are long and multi-colored, although shorter styles and solid colors can be found. This style is an updated version of classic shag carpeting.
Cut and loop
When cut and loop fibers are combined, a pattern is created in the carpet. Since patterns range from a pin-dot style to a linear or geometric design, there is a carpet style to match any decor. This carpeting, usually one color, works well in a low-traffic space like a bedroom.
